Born in 1946 in Greenville BC, artist Henry Roy Vickers is one of Canada’s most successful and prolific artists. Vickers' use of spiritual symbols in his artwork was taught to him by his grandfather, a First Nation canoe carver. In 1972, Vickers studied at the Gitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Indian Art in Hazelton, BC.
Vickers' silkscreen artwork utilizes bold, primary colors and the rich imagery of the First Nation. In addition to Henry Roy Vickers' Canadian First Nation prints for sale, the artist is also well known for his intricate carvings and totem poles. Vickers has written several books and is a compelling motivational speaker. In 1986, Vickers opened the Eagle Aerie Gallery in Tofino, BC. The gallery highlights artist Vickers' breathtaking paintings, prints, and carvings, as well as the artworks of other indigenous artists.
