Iconic table lamp model "Faliera", designed by the famous master glassmaker Luciano Vistosi for the prestigious family firm Vistosi around the 1970s. This piece is a magnificent example of Italian lighting design of the period, where the millenary tradition of Murano glass meets the refined aesthetics of the postmodern movement. The chandelier is notable for a balanced play of geometries and a boldly asymmetrical composition. It rests on a solid circular base in white glass, from which emerges a cylindrical chromed steel stem in an off-center position. This metal pillar, which adds a cool, architectural touch, supports a majestic flattened dome-shaped shade, made entirely of the highest quality Murano opaline glass. The contrast between the purity and warmth of the white blown glass and the reflective brilliance of the chrome creates a fascinating visual dialogue. When lit, the opal glass acts as a perfect diffuser, emitting a soft, enveloping and very atmospheric ambient light, ideal for spaces seeking intimate and sophisticated lighting. In addition, the base retains its characteristic original integrated switch, a much-appreciated design detail. The "Faliera" is not just a luminaire, but a true light sculpture of which very few units were manufactured, making it a unique opportunity to acquire it for collectors of Murano glass and lovers of Italian design of the twentieth century who wish to incorporate a piece with signature, history and an undeniable visual presence in their interior design.

Gaetana Aulenti studied at the Faculty of Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, graduating in 1954. Aulenti is one of the few women who have left a deep and sometimes controversial mark on international architecture, as well as on theatrical scenography and industrial design. Among her most outstanding architectural projects are the renovations of the Palazzo Grassi in Venice and the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, which led to many subsequent commissions, such as the Italian Pavilion at the 1992 Universal Exposition in Seville and the renovation of the National Palace of Montjuïc (Barcelona), the current home of the MNAC. Born into a family of Murano dedicated to the production of artistic glass, Luciano Vistosi runs since 1952 the family factory, with which collaborated prestigious designers such as Aulenti, Magistretti, Sottsass and Mangiarotti, among others. He held his first solo exhibition in 1968 at the Alfieri Gallery in Venice, at a time when he has already fully focused his designs on the expressive possibilities of blown glass. Subsequently also work the sculpture on glass block.
