Zhu Wei graduated from the Art College of Harbin National University, Heilongjiang Province. In 1991, he graduated from the oil painting creation training class of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is the Director of the Chinese Oil Painting Society and Chairman of the Heilongjiang AA Oil Painting Society. His works are widely collected by the National Art Museum of China as well as other art institutions, foundations, universities, and collections around the world. After 1997, he lived in New York and has held solo exhibitions in Dallas, Phoenix, New Jersey, Rhode Island, New York, and Connecticut, and has participated in many exhibitions organized by the American Association of Art Institutions. In 2006, he was hired by the National Art League as the sole judge for the annual National Art League Member Exhibition Awards.
