      Marjory Whittington, British (1888 - 1970), "Pan Playing his Flute," woodblock print on paper, signed lower right in pencil, inscribed in another hand on verso with an attribution to an incorrect artist, measures 5.50 x 7 inches to the edge of the image, 15 x 12 inches framed. CONDITION: Good, some toning, frame with wear. Born Marjory Florence Hood in London, she married Francis Herbert Whittington, a toy manufacturer and artist, in 1910. A well-known Suffolk artist, she worked under the name of Marjory Whittington. An oil and watercolor painter and etcher, she exhibited at the Royal Academy; Royal Scottish Academy; Royal Institute of Artists; the Fine Art Society; Grosvenor Gallery; Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts; Goupil Gallery; Walker Art Gallery; Society of Women Artists and the Paris Salon and at the Ipswich Art Society.
