      by John Williams, cylindrical form applied with large twin-handles, hammered in relief with fish amongst waterweed unmarked -- 20cm. high LITERATURE Simplicity or Splendour Lund Humphries, illustrated page 104 catalogue no.58 The Studio Volume VIII, 1896 page 96 for a similar example illustrated NOTES John Williams (c1870-1951) who was one of the early members of the Guild of Handicraft and worked in close association with John Pearson in the metalwork studio (see Christie's South Kensington Classic Arts and Crafts 2nd November 2000 for a charger signed by both artists). A similar vase was illustrated in an article on the Home Arts and Industries Association which Williams was heavily involved with. Like John Pearson he resigned from the Guild of Handicraft in 1892.
