Walter Henry Williams was deeply influenced by the colors and styles of Reuben Tam, Victor Candell, Gregorio Prestopino, and Ben Shahn, whom he met while studying at the Brooklyn Museum Art School in the early 1950's. One word that defines his work is "nature." Although he was born and raised in New York City, he always took pleasure in the sights and sounds of trees and bird, flora and fauna. In short, the natural world was his ultimate muse. HID01801242017
