Signed lower right, titled “collé sur Ingres” on the reverse. • Rendered to perfection, this fine and already largely abstract drawing from the early 1940s has been shown at numerous national and international exhibitions since the 1960s • Important provenance since its first appearance in the collection of Edouard Loeb, Paris, who was one of the most important collectors and sellers of Cubist and Surrealist art prior to WWII The old frame backing paper pasted to the back of the current frame bears a label of the Fischer collection, Krefeld, and labels of all the exhibitions mentioned below (except Bremen/Houston 2013/14) and of the Kunst- und Museumsverein Wuppertal-Elberfeld with the handwritten date 1966. This work is accompanied by a photo expertise by Dr. Ewald Rathke, Frankfurt/Main, dated 30.11.2016.
