(American, born 1957) Sevilla Street, St. Augustine, Florida, 1984, signed lower left "S.S. Young", with original painting backing inscribed "To Margie Campbell, On Sevilla Street, Eastside, S.S. Young 1984", watercolor on paper, 13-1/2 x 5 in.; metal frame, 11-1/4 x 20-1/4 in. Provenance: Note from the Consignor: My personal belief is that Margie Campbell lived in Jacksonville, FL and Young gave the painting to her. I found an obituary where a Margie Campbell passed in 2020. She was living in the Regency area in Jacksonville and was a local artist, who painted also in watercolor and even had a solo exhibit at the local Cummer museum. She also won 1999 Jacksonville Artist of the Year from the Jacksonville Watercolor Society. I suppose unless Young himself confirmed this, we'll never know for sure that this is Margie Campbell who he gifted the painting to, but I believe that is who it is. It would also explain how the painting ended up in the Regency area thrift shop.
