Biography

A LIFE LONG PASSION

My name is Tony Cribb, I have a BA Hons degree in History and Warfare, I am what the industry calls an "Arms and Armour Specialist"

After many years working as a Publisher in London I decided to change direction and follow a career I was passionate about. Taking a sizeable cut in salary I applied to a variety of auction houses to try to get a position as a Porter and work my way up the ladder.

Fortunately for me I was offered a position at Phillips in Oxford and even more fortunately this coincided with the relocation of the Arms and Armour Department from Bond Street in London to the Oxford Branch of Phillips.

The departmental Junior Cataloguer didn't want to relocate. Instant promotion from Porter to Junior Cataloguer in the Arms and Armour Department of a major London Auction House and a Dream Job for me.

Since then I have worked for Bonhams, Sworders and JS Fine Art, each time as an Arms and Armour Specialist.

Now I work for me...and for you.
