Bleasdales’ founding Director, Robert Bleasdale, is a passionate exponent of antique sewing collectables and a highly experienced and knowledgeable specialist. He is a qualified member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and has been a Director and Senior Board Member of both Phillips and Bonhams auctioneers.

As Group Managing Director of Bonhams International auctioneers, he was instrumental in founding and then expanding their specialist sewing sales held at the company’s Knowle salerooms in the West Midlands.

These sales have proved hugely popular with both collectors from within the United Kingdom and overseas and have regularly achieved selling rates in excess of 90%, as well as world record prices for individual items. Under Robert’s guidance Bleasdales will further develop these specialist sewing sales and our next auction will take place in December 2009.

Our aim is to meet the interests of experienced and new collectors, and to make the process of buying and selling at auction enjoyable and straightforward.

Our sales catalogue will be available online and buyers who are unable to attend our sales will be able to register and view individual lots online in detail.
