Auctions & Tenders

Drewery & Wheeldon has a long history of involvement in Auctions through our agricultural division, property division and furniture saleroom. The Property Auction business has grown significantly and in 2006 the Company negotiated sales in excess of £7 million under auction conditions. The auction business has increased as a result of a regional marketing strategy which exposes the various lots to a wide range of investors and developers away from our immediate area.

As a result of looking to increase our field of operation we have joined 'Auction House' a well established firm of Norfolk auctioneers to trade as Auction House Drewery & Wheeldon Limited. It is envisaged that this company will grow into a nationwide association of independent property auctioneers operating in their own right, but having the support of a company which has branches throughout the United Kingdom. Auctions will continue to be held at the prestigious Gainsborough Golf Club which offers extensive car parking and spacious function facilities. It is anticipated that further auctions will take place on a regular basis in the South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and South Lincolnshire areas.

The Trinity Street Sale Rooms hold regular furniture auctions throughout the year. The service offered for these regular sales of antique furniture and effects includes a collection service, removals, competitive commission rates and provision of insurance and probate valuations.

Drewery & Wheeldon has a close association with the nationally well known Moody Group. This Company through its Auctioneering and Asset Valuing arm provides a comprehensive nationwide valuation and disposals service. Valuations are provided for management buyouts, company reorganisation, insurance and balance sheet purposes. Disposals of Plant and Machinery are held either on site or on line. Recent sales have been carried out on behalf of numerous blue chip companies including Dairy Crest, Arla, Diageo and Unilever. We have been active in disposing of a diverse range of assets from vegetable processing plants to breweries.
