FINAN & CO provide a comprehensive service for the acquisition, sale and care of antiques and works of art.

The premises, which date from the late 16th century, are situated in the centre of the historic country town of Mere close to the A303, with main line railway stations at the nearby towns of Gillingham and Warminster.

Finan & Co received a Conservation Award in 1996 from Salisbury Civic Society for the restoration of the property.

SPECIALIST SALES

Internationally advertised specialist auctions are held in the Spring and Autumn. Illustrated catalogues are available on the Internet and by subscription.

COLLECTORS SALES

Auctions of Antiques and Collectors items are held in the Summer and Winter. Illustrated catalogues are available on the Internet and by subscription.

GENERAL SALES

General Auctions of Antiques are held in association with independent firms of Auctioneers and Valuers, for whom Finan & Co act as consultants.

Finan & Co can arrange for the sale, by auction, of entire house contents, ensuring that the more important items are included in the Specialist and Collectors sales.

APPRAISALS

For an appraisal and valuation of any item you are considering selling, an appointment can be made at our main office in Mere, or alternatively a consultant will be pleased to visit your home. This service is free of charge and without any obligation.

CHARGES

The commission rate for property sold at auction is 10% of the price realised. All items are insured while in our care, for which an additional charge of 1% will be made. There are no charges for photography or storage. If transport is required, a reputable carrier can be recommended, and the cost deducted from the final settlement.

VALUATIONS

Finan & Co can prepare documented valuations for insurance and other purposes. In the event of damage or loss, a detailed inventory will ensure adequate compensation is received, and aid the recovery of stolen property.

PROBATE

A comprehensive probate service is available for solicitors, bank trustees, accountants and estate executors.
