Freeman’s is America’s oldest auction house, an esteemed national and international presence with deep-rooted expertise. We offer year-round auctions of art and luxury goods across multiple categories, from Asian art and books and manuscripts to jewelry, modern and contemporary art, and Pennsylvania Impressionists.

Bringing specialized, attentive client services to the buying and selling process, Freeman’s boasts impressive single-owner sale results across categories. Most recently, the white-glove sale of the Collection of Virginia and Stuart Peltz achieved $1.4M; a selection of sculpture by François-Xavier Lalanne from a prominent Washington, D.C. family sold for $2.1M; and the 2019 sale of the Collection of Robert J. Morrison achieved $1.5M.

Freeman’s knowledgeable team of specialists brings rare, important, and fresh-to-market works to auction, leading to such record-breaking results as the 2021 sales of Carl Moll’s painting White Interior for $4.7M and signer Charles Carroll’s copy of the Declaration of Independence for $4.42M.
