Henry Adams Fine Art was founded by the partners of Walker King, the south of Englands leading independent fine art valuations company, and Henry Adams & Partners the leading independent estate agents and Chartered Surveyors based in Chichester, with nine offices in West Sussex and East Hampshire.

Our regular specialist fine art auctions are held at Baffins Hall in Chichester, an 18th century building that has hosted auctions for well over a hundred years. A wide array of categories feature in our auctions including antique furniture, paintings, jewellery, silver, clocks, ceramics, books, works of art and collectors items. We also work in conjunction with the leading international auction rooms and place suitable high value items for sale in London and overseas.

All of our valuers and expert consultants have previously worked for the international auction rooms. We combine our knowledge and experience with old fashioned personal with extensive advertising, this ensures that we reach a worldwide audience.

Probate Valuation Service

We aim to provide a quick and efficient service for executors of estates by keeping the administration to a minimum and enabling the estate to be dispersed quickly. As soon as we are contacted priority is given to visiting the vacant premises, carrying out a valuation, advising on the best means of disposal of the property and contents and removing valuable items to secure premises until probate is granted. Thereafter our carriers can remove the larger items to our sale room, and this can be followed by a ‘clearance and sweep through’ service if required.

In order to realize the maximum results of each estate we may recommend and arrange for suitable high value items to be placed in international sale in London or overseas. Insurance Valuation Service

With burglary an ever increasing problem and with fire an ever present possibility it is the responsibility of every householder to prove to their insurance company of the extent of any loss that they may suffer. Allied to this are the increasing values of antiques and fine art which many people fail to realize or simply become out of touch with current values. A detailed valuation provided by Henry Adams Fine Art will give an overall total for an entire house contents listing all the more significant items. We provide two copies of a bound valuation, one of which can be retained and the other passed to insurers. Charges are agreed in advance and are normally based upon time spent rather than a percentage of the total which usually results in a significant saving compared with the more conventional methods of charging.
