John Moran Auctioneers is a family-owned and operated auction house that was started by John Moran in 1969. After spending a period of time working independently in the art and estate business, Moran decided to start his own company. Today, John Moran is one of the top auction houses in America, having successfully handled thousands of estate sales over the years. Moran was also the first auctioneer in the world to sell a California painting for more than a $1 million.
California and American paintings are the hallmark of John Moran Auctioneers. In fact, the auction house is the leader in annual sales of California Style watercolors, California Impressionism, and Western Art. In addition to California and American Art auctions, John Moran Auctioneers conducts auctions for Estate Auctions and Discovery Auctions.
Estate Auctions generally include about 200 lots or more and feature typical estate items such as jewelry, furniture, clocks, books, and more. Discovery Auctions consist primarily of a selection from local buyers and sellers at more affordable prices. Having the variety of different auction lots at different prices allows bidders from around the world to find exactly what they're looking for. John Moran Auctioneers has conducted 117 auctions since 1993, with 10 in 2014.
The staff at John Moran Auctioneers consists of experienced consultants, specialists, auctioneers, and dedicated employees. Photographers and web marketers ensure that even online bidders get a great visual preview of upcoming auction items. Each staff member has experience and passion behind their work, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
John Moran Auctioneers regularly posts auction items, tips for buying and selling, and updates on their Facebook page and Twitter account.
