LA Modern Auctions (LAMA) is the West Coast's preeminent venue for the sale of 20th and 21st century art and design at auction. As the first auction house to specialize in 20th century art and design, LAMA played, and continues to play, an integral role in establishing the market for some of today's most celebrated artists and designers. Our experienced and energetic team works with buyers and sellers alike to present vetted works and to help grow private and institutional collections, no matter the size.

LA Modern Auctions was founded in 1992 by curator and trusted consultant, Peter Loughrey. Together with Shannon Loughrey, they quickly established their firm as a trusted authority in the fields of art and design by offering quality, vetted material at variety of price points. Over the past two decades, LAMA has successfully expanded to include artists and designers of international origins but continues to specialize in works from creators and movements rooted in California.
