Marion Antique Auctions is a regional auction company specializing in the sale of important estates and collections.
Two to three high quality sales are conducted each year. All items offered for sale are fresh to the market and for the most part unreserved.
The company is a collaboration between Frank McNamee of the Marion Antique Shop in Marion, MA and C. David Glynn of Turkey Creek Auctions in Citra, FL. Frank and David have both been in the business since they were teenage friends. David Glynn started in the antiques business in his early teens in Sandwich, MA. Too young to drive a car, he pushed his purchases in a wheelbarrow. David worked at the Sandwich Auctions and for Willis Henry Auctions and had his own auctions in Massachusetts. Approximately 20 years ago he moved to Florida to start his own auction gallery. David's gallery, Turkey Creek Auctions, is the busiest auction gallery in Central Florida. Frank started his antique business with his mother while still in high school. Frank is a very active dealer and appraiser with a large retail and wholesale store. He has owned shops in Wareham and Nantucket, and since 1989 in Marion. He has participated in many important antique shows in New England. Frank is a member of the New England Appraisers Association, the American Society of Appraisers and a graduate of the Appraisal Study program at RISD and the Winterthur Winter Institute. He is a certified USPAP appraiser and has worked on some of the most important estates in Southeastern Mass and beyond.
Both David and Frank are very knowledgeable and have over 70 years of combined experience in the antique and appraisal business. The auction should reflect the attributes of these two veteran antique dealers.
