We are the only Auctioneers in Cornwall to provide a quality weekly General Auction held every Thursday at 10am of some 400/500 varied lots. Our packed Auction Room contains each week a wide selection of good quality new and used furnishings, good quality china and collectables, glass, metalware, pictures, miscellanea, books, tested electrical items, tools, Victorian to modern furnishings, including dining suites, bedroom suites, chest of drawers, three piece suites, beds, modern and old pine and numerous items of interest.
Unusual lots and items of significance and importance are normally listed in our Auction adverts within the local press.
We are on view every Wednesday between 2pm and 6pm and morning of sales from 9am.
Goods consigned for these weekly sales are normally invited on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturday mornings. It is advisable to contact the Auction office to ensure deliveries do not clash with additional Auctions.
ANTIQUE & PICTURE SALES
The Antique and Picture Sales are held every 7-8 weeks including approximately 800/900 lots of pictures, metalware and miscellanea, china and ceramics, glass, silver, silver plate, jewellery and objet d’art, clocks and barometers, furniture and items of interest. We produce quality catalogues with detailed descriptions, estimates and some colour illustrations. The catalogue is also placed on various Internet sites with search services.
The viewing times for the Antique and Picture sales are prior to the Auction date Wednesday 10am-1pm and 2pm-6pm, Thursday 2pm-4pm and morning of sale from 9am
COLLECTORS SALES
These very popular specialised Collectors Sales are aimed at the avid collector and buyer of unusual items and these sales are held every 7/8 weeks containing approximately 1000 lots. Items will vary from books, postcards, cigarette cards and paperwork, stamps, coins, medallions and banknotes, mining and sporting memorabilia, scientific instruments, toys and models, medals and badges, weapons and militaria and other related lots. We produce quality catalogues with detailed descriptions, estimates and some colour illustrations and the Auctions are placed on specialised Internet sites with search services.
The viewing times for these sales are usually the prior Wednesday 10 am – 1pm and 2pm – 6pm, Thursday 2pm – 4pm and mornings of sales from 9am
VINTAGE & CLASSIC MOTORCYCLE, CAR, AUTOMOBILIA AND TOOL SALES
About 2 of these Auctions are held each year, usually in the spring and autumn. Lots will vary from desirable motorcycles and cars in varying conditions, Automobilia, collectable parts, vehicle badges, paperwork and literature, advertising signs, vintage and collectable tools, power tools and machinery and related items.
These Auctions are usually held on a Monday and it is advisable to contact the Auctioneers for forthcoming dates.
We also undertake sales on site, commercial and industrial Auctions, and various other sales held on site.
Our Services
Postage and Packing
We offer an “in house” service of postage and packing for items purchased in any of our specialised saleswhere we use recycled packing materials to ensure customers received their items at extremely reasonable rates.
Transport
Transport can be arranged via a number of local carriers whether house clearance, large consignments or single items. It is advisable to contact the Auction Office to ascertain the area and distance and best mode of transport/carrier
Transport for larger items purchased can also be arranged whether locally or nationally via various local removal companies.
Catering
A central cafeteria is available serving hot and cold food with light refreshments on sale days only.
Valuations
Valuations and appraisal on items possibly consigned for sale are conducted at The Truro Auction Centre usually on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturday mornings and is advisable to initially contact the Auctioneers to ensure valuers are available. Valuations are also conducted in the clients home throughout the county either for house clearance or removal purposes, or for larger or more difficult items or collections.
We have the ability to undertake all types of house clearance and estate work, segregating the unusual and more valuable pieces for our varied types of specialised sales with the remaining saleable items feeding our weekly general sales. We can also arrange disposal of unsaleable items but it is advisable to ascertain costs for this service initially.
