McCartneys Fine Art and Antique valuers and auctioneers is based at the Portcullis Saleroom at McCartneys' flagship purpose built auction complex. This is situated in the historic market town of Ludlow, gateway to the Marches, famous for its picturesque streets, fine restaurants and a plethora of shops dealing in the finest antiques.

Sales are held in a well presented 7000 square foot saleroom with convenient loading and unloading facilities and parking for over 300 cars.

The Fine Art department is headed by Daniel Fielder, who has a wide and varied experience in the profession. Daniel started his career at a gallery in Eastbourne dealing in 19th century pictures, moving on to two auction houses in Sussex as auctioneer and valuer, before settling with his family in North Herefordshire in 2001.

McCartneys offers monthly sales of fine antiques which include fine furniture of all periods, often with substantial amounts of early oak and country furniture which is a particular forte of the firm since we have one of the strongest markets for this.

Sales also include a good selection of silver and silver plate, porcelain and pottery, decorative objects and books, together with the occasional surprise. These sales attract vendors from across the country and buyers nationally and internationally.

The saleroom also holds general sales throughout the year which include some items of Victorian and Edwardian furniture together with a good selection of pine furniture, modern reproduction furniture and household effects.
