McTear's

McTear's is one of the largest independent auction houses in the UK, with a market leading position in the sale of fine art, whisky, jewellery, silver, Asian Works of Art, ceramics, furniture, works of art and antiques.

Founded in 1842, the Glasgow based company has welcomed a host of high profile names over the years with legendary Scottish philanthropist, William Burrell, a frequent visitor to the auction house in earlier days. In more recent times McTear's has extended its reach, building an impressive database of buyers and sellers in over a hundred countries across the globe. McTear's Head Office and Auction Galleries are situated just south of the Clyde Tunnel adjacent to the M8 motorway in Glasgow.

The Galleries are open every weekday from 8.30am until 5pm and on Saturday mornings. The facilities at McTear's Galleries boast a private car park and café.
