Midwest Auctions Inc. started in business in December of 1989. It is owned by Russell and Shawna Hayward. Historical items have always been of special interest and we specialize in quality Native American items. We have over fifteen years of experience in auctioneering. We do not have an auction house; we travel to the owner's location and conduct the auction in an area we feel is the best location for the items being offered.

Over the past eighteen years, we have conducted many auctions and average approximately six auctions per year. If you would like any additional information on any of these auctions including those listed below, please contact us.

Some of our past auctions include:

Dwight and Helen Wilmoth Collection. Thanks to Dwight and Helen Wilmoth from Mt. Vernon, Missouri for allowing us to liquidate several portions of their collection. They have an outstanding collection of both Pre-Historic and Historic Native American items. We are indeed fortunate to have been the auction company selected to sell their collection.

John Peter and Betty Ann Knudsen Collection April 8, 1999. This auction was held in Rochelle, IL. Much of the collection belonged to John Peters' father, John Jones Knudsen from Madison, WI. This collection contained some of the finest flint, stone, copper artifacts, pipes, beadwork, etc. we have had the privilege of auctioning.

The Old Stockade Museum was featured in National Geographic magazine. The museum closed September 4, 1995. The auction contained a wide variety of Native American items as well as those of the Old West and Civil War.

Items were donated by all the popular entertainers, both old and new. Proceeds were donated to the construction of a retirement facility for retired musicians. A special highlight included a 6 hour show with as many of the entertainers performing as possible. Robert and I, along with deceased Grand Ole Opry announcer Grant Turner were emcees for the event.
