PFK is a Cumbrian-based company established in 1876. From beginnings as a livestock mart the firm now has various divisions based at separate locations, briefly comprising; the Antiques Saleroom, Estate Agency (4 branches), Land Agency, Planning, etc. The saleroom has occupied its current purpose-built site, just a couple of hundred yards from junction 40 of the M6 where it crosses the A66, for the last five years. Regular fortnightly sales of Victoriana/Household goods are interspersed with four quarterly catalogue antique sales.

From an initial catalogue sale totalling £94,000 five years ago, the sales are now regularly topping £200,000 from around 600-700 lots sold, with many four-figure prices. We recently sold a 19th-century continental oil painting for £11,500 after it had been valued at just £800-1200 by a major auction house, and following that success were offered another similar painting which we sold for £26,000.
