Since September 2014, PIASA has been located on the famous street, Rue Faubourg Saint Honoré, in the heart of the Golden Triangle of Paris. There, PIASA, its exhibition spaces, and its dedicated team are gathered.
PIASA was first created in October 1996; at the time, it organized more than 60 auctions each year in Haute-époque, Ancient Paintings and Drawings, Books and Manuscripts, Modern and Contemporary Art, Asian Art, Jewelry, 20th-century Designs, Furniture and Objets d’art, and Wine & Spirits.
In 2008, owner Artemis sold 60 percent of the company’s capital to private investors involved in the company who would then acquire the entire capital share in 2011. In 2013, PIASA opened a new space where it began to organize a dozen 20th-century design sales. That new Design team allowed PIASA to become the leader in the French market for postwar designs.
A team of 30 specialists make up the Paris office at PIASA, but the house also has representatives in Brussels, Nantes, Marseille, Lyon, and Angers. Experts in each department work closely together to provide a full range of services, whether clients desire to receive an estimate of sales, assessments for insurance, advice on purchases, or transportation and shipping.
