Pippa Deeley Auctions

Invaluable Seller since 2013

Philippa (Pippa) Deeley established Philippa H Deeley Ltd in January 2007. The company specialises in antiques and fine art valuations and also trades as Pippa Deeley Auctions holding monthly sales of antiques, fine art and general household items. In additional it also provides numerous salerooms and related businesses nationwide with a consultancy service including auctioneering, cataloguing, valuations and a specialist knowledge regarding jewellery.

Pippa is a highly qualified general valuer of antiques and fine art with over fifteen years’ experience. She studied for a degree in Fine Art Valuation at Southampton Institute and then went on to work in various salerooms in the South East. In 2002 whilst working for Bracketts Fine Art Auctioneers in Tunbridge Wells as a senior valuer and auctioneer, she began appearing on BBC’s Bargain Hunt as an auctioneer and expert, and went on to work for and appear on BBC’s Flog It, BBC’s Cash In The Attic and ITV’s Dickinson’s Real Deal, continuing to work for both the BBC and ITV today.

In 2005 Pippa moved to Bristol to work for Dreweatt Neate (recently re-branded as Dreweatts) and in her two years there also studied to specialise in jewellery. Her qualifications include not only a BA with honours but also a diploma in gemmology (FGA) and a gem diamond diploma (DGA) both awarded by the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. She is also a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Fine Arts and Chattels Division (MRICS)

Pippa returned to the South East and set up Philippa H Deeley Ltd in January 2007, realising a longstanding dream to run her own company. In 2008 she held her first auction under the name of Pippa Deeley Auctions and this branch of the business has grown steadily ever since with record hammer prices for the saleroom including four paintings by the Indian artist Jamini Roy selling for £8,000 in September 2010, a matched graduated set of three Louis Vuitton cases selling for £2,180.00 and an Art Deco three colour gold cigarette case by Ostertag selling for £3,450.00 in October 2011.

In August 2011 the team at the saleroom in Bodiam were joined by Stuart Page, previously a valuer at Eastbourne Auctions and Dreweatts Auctioneers, having also worked independently. As auction room manager Stuart has made a big difference with his logistical and organisational talents and his specialist knowledge of collectables has proved invaluable.
