Our History

* In 2004, Stefek’s added a clean out service because of increasing client demand for this type of service. Many of our clients did not have enough items to conduct an estate auction by themselves, so we created a niche. For a flat fee, we sell what we can through private sales, then donate the useful items and clean out the home. We are now conducting approximately 100 estate clean outs per year.

* In 2004, Stefek’s began offering appraisal services to its client base. Lori Stefek became an accredited personal property appraiser with the International Society of Appraisers in 2006. Stefek’s appraisal business is now increasing at a rate of three fold from previous levels. Stefek’s partners with many CPAs, attorneys, realtors and banks in the Metro Detroit area as well as the surrounding Michigan area that help as estate liquidators or executors of estates.

* In 2004, Stefek’s added senior moving to its services. We have conducted moves for seniors moving to facilities such as American House, Sunrise Assisted Living, Waltonwood and Henry Ford Village in Metro Detroit with multiple moves per month, and this continues to increase quarterly.

* In 2005, because of the volume of work that Stefek’s does with many of the major banks, CPAs, attorneys and realtors in the Metro Detroit area, as well as the surrounding areas, we began brokering high end antique items, furniture, and fine art to local estate auction houses and auction houses in surrounding states and/or taking them on consignment for later sales for our customers. Lori Stefek, at this time, took on the challenge to obtain her diploma from the Missouri Auction School and in 2006 graduated. She has since donated her time to multiple local charities as their guest auctioneer, gaining experience. As a broker, this gave Stefek’s a unique understanding of the estate sale auction companies we were dealing with.

In summary, Stefek’s has meticulously built its business through a controlled growth method coupled with careful strategic planning. Stefek’s has entered these new markets based on responding to its customer’s needs along with reviewing the needs of the estate sale auctions market.

With our client base increasing by approximately 30% per year, Stefek’s needed a venue to sell/auction high end items such as fine art, paintings, sculptures, notable collections and fine furnishings through Stefek's Ltd. Stefek’s has already developed a large client base (sellers) along with a strong customer base (buyers) utilizing its current services. This solid base allows us to be uniquely positioned to use this momentum and our conservative business model to fuel a natural growth process. We’re a dynamic, growing Michigan based estate sale business that has big aspirations for its future and the world.
