Biography

Located in the heart of Staffordshire, at Wintertons Fine Art we offer their valued clients a comprehensive programme of high quality Fine Arts and General Sales, together with a full range of professional valuation services. Wintertons Fine Arts is part of the Bagshaws Partnership, a leading provider of agricultural and property services, located within the Derbyshire and Staffordshire area of Great Britain.

Through this network Wintertons Fine Arts has also developed considerable links overseas. We receive regular enquiries, telephone bids and email bids from Europe, the United States, New Zealand and Australia. In this way many thousands of items consigned from the local Midland clients are offered to both a National and International market.

Wintertons Fine Arts began its long and prestigious life as a small family run business back in 1864. In those days the furniture auctions took a back seat to the regular cattle sales that were so vital to a thriving farming community like Lichfield. As the years went by, the Fine Arts side of the business grew from strength to strength and today enjoys a well respected reputation.

In 1988 Wintertons moved its premises from the old cattle market in Lichfield town centre to the new purpose built auction centre on the Fradley business estate. Wintertons was soon to join forces with Bagshaws, another well established firm of Auctioneers and Estate Agents. This has enabled Wintertons Fine Arts to encompass a much wider area, including a further saleroom at the Bagshaws Estate Offices in Uttoxeter.

In 2001 Wintertons Fine Arts opened their Derbyshire saleroom in Bakewell. Here four sales are held each year. Staffordshire & Derbyshire auctioneers Wintertons Fine Arts are also represented by offices at Derby & Ashbourne.
