Together with a Notice of the Province of South Australia in 1847 London T & W Boone 184 416 & 308 & 92 pages Octavo Modern rebinding in 1/2 leather & marbled boards Some foxing and offsetting but a reasonable and sturdy copy with a folding map and fifteen plates including six in colour (some after S.T. Gill and John Gould) The foredge of volume 2 has been shaved and just affects the images on the plates. Sturt left Adelaide to explore the north and north east part of the continent. He reached Cooper's Creek and the Stony Desert. The appendix includes comments by Sir Thomas Mitchell and Edmund Kennedy on their explorations of Cape York Peninsula and an essay by Gould on birds and Brown on botany
