Description: 1) W. HOLE PERCUSSION CONVERSION HALF STOCK FOWLER. Cal. approx. 12 Ga. NSN. Oct. to rnd. 32 7/8" bbl. wrapped w/ modern whipping to the half stock. Bbl. has a gold band at the breech w/ a inset gold rectangle reading "W. HOLE / BRISTOL" w/ a crown. Fowler is a drum conversion. Iron trigger guard, engraved buttplate & thimbles. Plated brass nosecap. Pinned bbl. w/ plated pin escutcheons. CONDITION: iron shows dark oxidation & has been painted black. Paint is approx. 75% intact throughout. Center thimble is missing. Stock is in near relic condition & is broken badly at the wrist w/ a screw & plate repair. No ramrod. Lock holds full cock only. Poor bore. (01-14439/BF). 2) UNMARKED PERCUSSION CONVERSION HALF STOCK FOWLER. Cal. approx. 16 Ga. NSN. Oct. to rnd. bbl. 37 3/4" marked "LONDON" on the top flat. 3 Proof marks on left flat of bbl. Fowler is a drum conversion. Iron trigger guard, buttplate & thimbles. Pinned bbl. Wood ramrod. Stock is checkered at the wrist. German silver escutcheon oval at the top of the wrist. CONDITION: iron parts have a dark patina & are severely oxidized & pitted. Early ramrod is not original. Nosecap missing. Stock is severely worn w/ losses around the lock. Lock does hold full & half cock. Poor bore. (01-14483/BF). 3) J. MESSERSMITH PERCUSSION CONVERSION HALF STOCK RIFLE. Cal. approx. 54. NSN. 40 3/4" Oct. bbl. signed on the top flat in script "J--Messersmith". Jacob Messersmith was a Lancaster, PA gunsmith working around 1800. Early bbl. has a drum conversion & has been mounted on a later stock. Engraved iron back action lock, trigger guard, buttplate & entry thimble. Replaced wood ramrod. Brass oval escutcheon plate at top of wrist. Stock is checkered at the wrist. CONDITION: iron has a dark oxidized patina & appears to have been painted black at one time. Bbl. is broken at the screw hole of the tang. No nipple. Bbl. thimbles are missing. Bbl. pin missing. Wood is heavily worn w/ scattered cracks & losses. Rifle holds both full & half cock. Poor bore. (01-14487/BF). 4) PERCUSSION CONVERSION HALF STOCK FOWLER. Cal. approx. 20 Ga. NSN. 46" Oct. to rnd. bbl. marked "LONDON" on the top flat w/ 3 proof marks on the left flat. Fowler is a square drum conversion. Engraved lock marked "KETLAND & CO". Engraved brass acorn finial trigger guard w/ engraved brass buttplate & entry thimble. Iron ramrod rail, thimbles & bbl. pins. Stock is checkered at the wrist. CONDITION: iron has a dark mottled patina. Brass has a dark mellow aged patina. No ramrod. Stock shows heavy wear & losses opposite the lock & on the bbl. channel. Lock holds both full & half cock. Fair bore. (01-14489/BF). 5) COLE PERCUSSION CONVERSION HALF STOCK RIFLE. Cal. approx. 52. NSN. 36 3/4" Oct. bbl. Rifle is a drum conversion. Engraved lock marked "COLE". Brass trigger guard. Iron buttplate & bbl. thimbles. Brass tipped wooden ramrod. Iron bbl. pin. Stock stamped 6 times at the butt "NCD". CONDITION: iron has a dark mottled patina w/ areas of corrosion. Trigger guard is broken & reattached at rear screw. Middle thimble detached. Wood shows extensive wear w/ losses & cracks primarily near the breech & lock. Lock is very loose but holds full & half cock. Top sight has been removed. Poor bore. (01-14490/BF). 6) PERCUSSION CONVERSION HALF STOCK FOWLER. Cal. approx. 18 Ga. NSN. 34" Oct. to rnd. bbl. marked "LONDON" on the top flat. Early bbl. is a drum conversion & mounted on a later stock. Engraved back action lock marked "JOSEPH GOLCHER". Iron trigger guard & bbl. thimble. Modern replaced wooden ramrod. CONDITION: iron has a dark oxidized patina w/ pitting at the bbl. breech. Bbl. has visible scattered vise marks. No buttplate. Wood has been heavily refinished & appears to have been painted black. There is a poor nailed repair at the bbl. tang as well as various cracks & minor losses elsewhere. Lock holds both full & half cock. Poor bore. (01-14496/BF). 7) PERCUSSION HALF STOCK FOWLER. Cal. approx. 10 Ga. NSN. 37 1/4" Rnd. bbl. Engraved lock is marked "LONDON WARRANTED". Brass trigger guard, buttplate & entry thimble. Silver bbl. pin escutcheon & rectangular escutcheon at top of wrist. CONDITION: bbl. is broken at the tang w/ losses. No nipple. Iron has a dark oxidized patina. Brass has a mellow aged patina. Toeplate, bbl. rail & thimbles missing. Ramrod broken off in stock. No bbl. pin. Stock badly broken & heavily worn w/ brass & copper plate repairs utilizing numerous screws. Lock does not hold cock. Poor bore. (01-14497/BF). ALL ANTIQUE. $800-1300 for lot.

Payments: 8. PAYMENT: All items are to be paid for in American Funds the day of the sale. We accept Cash, pre-approved checks, Visa, MC, American Express, Discover & wire transfers. All items must be paid for in full before being removed from our facility. All fees associated with the cost of a wire transfer or bank check are those of the purchaser.

* Checks are to be pre-approved by auctioneer prior to the auction (at least 2 business days before auction, NOT the day of the auction). A letter of reference from your bank is recommended to those who have never done business with us before. The auctioneer reserves the right to hold merchandise purchased by checks that have not been pre-approved, until we can see that the check has cleared the bank. It is our policy to hold merchandise on all first time buyers until check has cleared the bank. Our bank has recommended 10 business days. This enables the check to clear the bank & if it does not, then it gives them the time to notify us via mail.
* There will be a $25 fee charged for all returned checks.

Note: Delay in payment, means delay in shipment to you. Delay in shipment to you could mean you lose all possibility of a return, so please make a prompt payment. Speediest form of payment is Credit Cards or Bank Checks. Personal or Business checks from first time buyers will hold the shipment up for 10 business days until checks have cleared the bank. This could jeopardize the warranties of the descriptions if the shipment exceeds 18 business days.
9. OUT OF COUNTRY BUYERS.
9A. Payment must be in the form of either Wire transfers or Checks drawn on United States Banks. Credit cards are only accepted for the shipping process, NOT for payment. All fees associated with the use of a wire transfer is the responsibility of the purchaser. This includes the $25 fee that Poulin Antiques & Auctions, Inc. is charged by their bank for the international wire transfer.
9B. The payment by wire transfer or bank check qualifies the purchaser for a 2.5% deduction on their Buyers Premium.
