Description: the lid boldly carved with foliate motifs and each side with reeded decoration
Dimensions: 19cm. high, 40.5cm. wide, 28cm. deep; 7½in., 1ft. 4in., 11in.
Condition Report: This superbly carved box is in overall good conserved condition. Due to shrinkage the carved panel top has had two thin fillets of timber inserted along the long edge. One such fillet has a significant loss. The top with ingrained dust and would benefit from a clean. One hinge mechanism has been replaced and there are signs of minor restoration around the escutcheon and lock plate.
