Description: A flintlock pistol by Zanoni, dating: second quarter of the 18th Century
Smooth, two-stage, 16 mm cal. barrel, the octagonal part decorated with bands of brass-inlaid, bas-relieved floral motifs surrounding a silver, bas-relived portrait of a young lady, rings at the girdle; a brass inlay at the tang; flat plate lock (pitting) with oblique borders, chiselled and engraved with floral pattern on dotted ground, signed "D. ZANONE", the screw of the hammer in the shape of a face with laurel crown; wooden full stock, relieved near the metallic parts; brass mounts, at the neck a white metallic shield (restored), the butt-plate and the trigger guard (with a restoration at the front edge) decorated with silver portraits of ladies, the surface chiselled and engraved with geometrical and floral motifs.
