A late 19th / early 20th century Anglo – Indian silver milk jug, Calcutta Bhowanipore circa 1900 by Grish Chunder Dutt
Raj period. Of rounded circular form upon a spreading circular foot, a cast twin C scroll handle with acanthus sections. The body with embossed decoration in village pattern, the rim engraved “34th Field Battery. R. A.”. Marked underneath GRISH CHUNDER DUTT BHOWANIPORE CALCUTTA. Together with a similar unmarked Calcutta twin handled sugar bowl, also in village pattern. (2)
