produced for the world premiere of 'The Spy Who Loved Me' on 7th July 1977, mounted on blue and black perspex base with secret drawer for rockets, with brass plaque 'Presented by the Mettoy Co Ltd 7th July 1977', with instruction card, in original gold-coloured display box (VG, some tarnishing, box G, some abrasion and wear to hinge)

Van Cleemput, Marcel R The Great Book of Corgi 1956-1983, New Cavendish Books, London 1989, pp 353-335. According to the author only ten of these special models were made, primarily for VIP guests at the world premiere of the film.

Provenance

This lot was formerly sold in these rooms on 20 May 2004 at a world record price for a Corgi Toy.
