Portrait of a lady, bust length, in a white summer dress holding an open book; a walled summer garden beyond signed and inscribed 'A Belimbau/Firenze' (lower left) oil on canvas 25 x 17 7/8 in. (63.5 x 45.4 cm.) NOTES Belimbau shared ideas and beliefs with the Italian 'Macchiaioli' school of painters and worked in a studio with Eugenio Cecconi. Works by him can be seen in the Gallery of Modern Art, Pitti Palace, Florence.
