Inscribed "A.LASSELL (D.R.)" l.r., artist's estate stamp l.r. and with additional
annotations on the reverse.
Watercolor on paper, 14 3/4 x 21 in. (37.4 x 53.3 cm), framed.
Condition: Pinholes to edges, toning, not examined out of frame.
N.B. A native of Massachusetts, Ripley often turned to the local landscape for inspiration. Many of his best works depict local farms, in particular, those in Lexington, Massachusetts, where he lived and kept a studio.
