AN ATTIC BLACK-FIGURED COLUMN-KRATER ATTRIBUTED TO THE BUCCI PAINTER, CIRCA 530 B.C. The obverse with a quadriga moving to the right, with a charioteer and a companion standing in the chariot box, the charioteer wearing a sleeveless black chiton, holding the reins and a goad, his companion wearing a striped and dotted mantle, the third of the overlapping horses in added white, a bird in flight above; the reverse with a youth standing beside a horse at the center, both facing left, a standing youth before them wearing a striped and dotted chlamys, a figure to the left moving right, wearing a chlamys draped over his shoulders, a chlamys hanging above; both sides with double rows of ivy framing the scenes, alternating red and black tongues above, rays above the foot, a band of key on the exterior of the rim, dotted lotus-bud chain on the upper surface of the rim, palmettes on the handle-plates, details in added white and red 10 1/8 in. (25.7 cm.) high
