AN ORIGINAL GRAPHITE AND WATERCOLOR ILLUSTRATION BY ARTHUR WILLIAM BROWN
Signed and dated l.l.c. Arthur William Brown `30 (Canadian, 1881 - 1966). Depicting an elegantly-dressed couple, the image was most likely used in a magazine. Brown studied at the Art Student’s League, becoming known for his illustration skills. This talent led to a 40-year stint illustrating at the Saturday Evening Post, but also drew for other magazines such as Collier`s, College Humor, Redbook and Cosmopolitan. He also contributed artwork for WW I recruiting and home front posters. Sight size 18 1/2"h x 11"w
