SHIPPING & PICK UP

All items are packed and shipped at our facility. We do not outsource shipping. We place your items in the safest box possible with packing, we weigh that box and we calculate the actual shipping costs. We then add $2 in handling fees ($1 for envelopes0 and this becomes your actual shipping costs. Larger packages sill typically ship UPS and all others USPS. However, many times shipping via UPS is cheaper as you move further west from South Carolina.

We ship to the address on your invoice. If this address is incorrect then change it. Emailing us a different address to ship to does not guarantee the change will be made. If you are emailing us a different address then you are aware the change needs to be made in your account.

Please ask for a shipping quote prior to bidding on larger items. We do not ship any item that will not fit in a box including furniture. Some items like artwork may require a special box to ensure safe shipping. The buyer is responsible for this cost. If you bid on these items you will need to arrange shipping within 7 days following the auction close or the items will be resold.

All firearms must ship to a FFL dealer. Please email to [email protected] It is the responsibility of the buyer to provide the FFL to us.

We (TRY) to ship five business days following payment. However, under the current health crisis it can take up to 14 days for your items to ship. We would also state that both UPS and USPS are experiencing longer than usual delivery time.

All shipments have tracking but we do not automatically provide tracking to you. Under the current health crisis please expect USPS and UPS to be a little slower than usual.

Please Note: Boxes with dimensions that exceed 12" increase the shipping costs. Items with dimensions longer than 6" will be packed in boxes above 12" due to packing materials. This will increase shipping costs especially as you get farther from South Carolina. We do not gouge shipping fees but they have increased dramatically as of late.

Shipment of all items occurs in-house at Lakelands Auction Services. We ship via USPS and UPS only. Items are shipped the safest and least expensive method with tracking and insurance to your registration address with AuctionZip. We do not automatically provide tracking data.

Coordinating your own Shipping or Pick Up:

We will email all winning bidders following the auction with our pick up schedule for that auction. It would be advisable when picking up heavier items to bring help. Please bring your own boxes and packing supplies.

When arranging shipping or pick up through another vendor or third-party of your choice, we require that you complete our Authorized Release Form. This form authorizes us to release your purchased items to the requested party. We will not release your lot(s) to any shipping vendor or third-party until we have received this form and payment has been made in full. Please note that shipment or pick up is the sole responsibility of the buyer. If you reside in a state or country that has import restrictions or regulations, it is your responsibility to obtain appropriate licenses to ship your purchased items (see the restricted materials section for more detail).

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please note that by placing a bid you have read and agreed to the following terms and conditions.

Basic terms (we encourage you to read these and all other terms):

1. We place items up for bid and attempt to provide as accurate a description as possible. If you need more information please contact us through Auctionzip's or Invaluable's system.
2. We ship most items but we DO NOT ship furniture or any item that does not fit in a box. We box your item(s) with packing material, measure and weigh the box then get an actual shipping price. We then add a $2 handling fee to achieve your shipping cost. The further from South Carolina you live and the larger the package, the more the shipping cost will be. We try to ship five days following payment but do not guarantee this. Beginning October 15, 2021 all shipments will require signature confirmation for delivery.
3. If you have an issue with an item you have to let us know (via email, please do not call us). We only issue refunds once an item is returned to us in its original condition. You do not get a refund or chargeback and get to keep the item as well. Absolutely no refunds are given for disputes regarding the condition of a firearm or coin as these are subjective values. We are guessing or estimated and are not licensed graders. Bidders have 7 days following delivery confirmation to request a refund.
4. You will receive two invoices following the auction. The first will be from Invaluable/Auctionzip and will reflect your bid, fees and shipping (if applicable). You will receive a second invoice from our company with a payment link through which you can pay your invoice.
We DO NOT take payments by phone. Bidders have 7 days following the receipt of an invoice to make payment. If payment has not been received then items bid upon may become unavailable.
5. All guns (except blackpowder and pre-1898) require a FFL to ship to. Please email all FFL's to [email protected] . When sending us an FFL be sure we have your bidder name somewhere in the email.
6. All ammo will ship separately from all firearms shipments. If you buy both ammo and a firearm they will boxed separately.


Unless noted, all items being sold are used and can be expected to exhibit wear from use or outside storage. All equipment is well maintained but is selling as "used". We cannot and do not guarantee any item once loaded and out of our possession. This strictly is an "As Is, Where Is" auction. Please use our preview times or schedule a preview to inspect all items "PRIOR" to placing a bid.

Some items like artwork may require a special box to ensure safe shipping. An artwork shipping box is $150 alone. The buyer is responsible for this cost. If you bid on furniture you will need to arrange shipping or pick up within 7 days following the auction close or the items will be resold.

Pick Up:

We will email all winning bidders following the end of the auction the actual pick-up times. It is safe to assume that pick up is the day following the auction close from 9am until 3pm. Please be aware of the pickup location as we sell from multiple places.

All items requiring shipping may take as long as 14 days following payment to ship. If you are in a hurry for your purchase and require expedited shipping do not bid.

Conditions of Sale

IMPORTANCE OF TERMS

All bids and payments are in United States Dollars. No PayPal Accepted. Bidders will be sent an invoice reflecting shipping costs and fees following the auction close unless you purchased a restricted item. There is a payment link at the bottom of the invoice. Payments not received within four (4) business days of invoice receipt will be automatically processed using the card on file.

Credit Card Charge Backs:

The buyer agrees that a chargeback will not be filed for items that are in transit according to tracking data from the shipper. All items noted as "delivered" with or without signature will be deemed delivered.

The buyer agrees that no chargeback will be initiated until all items in question have been returned in original condition to Lakelands Auction Services at the buyer's expense.


Restricted Items:

All firearms (not including black powder) produced after 1895 require shipment to a licensed FFL dealer. If you are picking up your firearm you must complete paperwork and a background check before leaving with your gun. If you have a valid in date South Carolina CWP you can forgo the background check. You must be 18 or older to purchase a rifle or shotgun and 21 or older to purchase a pistol or revolver.

BIDDER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bidder is responsible for any and all activity, bids, and purchases involving Bidder's account. Once a bid has been placed, it cannot be lowered or deleted by the auction house, Lakelands Auction Services, Invaluable or Auctionzip, The bidder alone can adjust his/her bid(s). Bidder agrees to keep its username and password confidential

CONDITIONS

Lakelands Auction Services has endeavored to accurately describe the items being sold, but all property offered for sale is strictly "as - is" "where - is" with all faults. The sales records and recordings shall be conclusive. It is the bidder's responsibility to determine the exact condition/authenticity of each item. No statement in this catalogue or by representatives of Lakelands Auction Services shall be considered as a warranty or assumption of liability. Written and oral descriptions given by Lakelands Auction Services staff members are given as a courtesy to a client, are only an opinion, and should not be considered as a guarantee of age, composition, or authenticity. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear or imperfections. High resolution images are provided to assist a bidder in making an additional assessment of condition. By bidding, you signify that you have either closely examined the items, have chosen not to examine them, or have hired an independent agent to examine the item(s) for you. Condition reports are available via the online catalog or by contacting the Lakelands Auction Services office.

Firearms: When we list a condition as APPEARS New in Box we are guessing based on our examination or seller data. If you disagree with our assessment we offer no apologies and no refund. Other condition reports are estimates or best guesses.

COINS: When offering grade estimates on non graded coins we are merely offering an opinion and cannot be held responsible if your opinion differs. Graded coins will noted as such per the grading company. We do not remove coins or bullion from holders to inspect or verify. We also do not validate authenticity in any manner. One should assume that coin boxes will have wear.

Jewelry: All jewelry metal purity has is listed strictly according to stamp on the jewelry. We do not test metal purity. We test stones using a gem tester and will use our best judgement as to the type of stone being sold. All gemstone weights are best estimates as we have not removed stones and weighed them. Any condition statements are estimates or best guesses.

BUYER'S PREMIUM

Absentee bidding and live real-time internet bidding is available at lakelandsauction.com with a 12% buyer's premium not including any premium charged by the online bidding provider.

PAYMENT

You will receive two invoices following the auction. The first will be from Invaluable/Auctionzip and will reflect your bid, fees and shipping (if applicable). You will receive a second invoice from our company with a payment link through which you can pay your invoice. We do not accept payment over the phone.

AUCTIONEER

Kit Young, SCAL 3812. The auctioneer always reserves the right to withdraw a lot for any reason he deems appropriate, including any lots that may have a reserve, or if there is a lack of bidding interest or lack of appropriate bids. Lakelands Auction Services shall have the right to withdraw any item at any time for any reason and to default any sale in the event of an error or dispute.

REGISTRATION

Bidders may create an account with AuctionZip.com. After signing in to the LelandLittle.com account, complete all necessary steps presented (e.g. agreeing to Terms of Sale) in order to proceed with bidding. All domestic US bids must be secured with a MasterCard, Visa, Amex or Discover Card. International bidders must acknowledge wire transfer payment terms.

BIDDING

Absentee and live real-time internet bidding is available through Auction Zip.com. When Absentee bidding, you may accept the current asking bid or enter a maximum bid value. Lakelands Auction Services cannot be held liable for bids that are not sent or received by the server.

The Online-Only Auction has a soft close; each lot will have a 30 second timer after it opens for live real-time internet bidding. Any lot that receives a bid within the last 25 seconds will have its bidding time extended to 25 seconds. Any and all lots will close either at the designated closing time or at such point that it has not received an advanced bid within a 25 second time frame. Outbid notifications will not be received within five lots of any lot opening for live real-time internet bidding.

LIVE INTERNET BIDS THROUGH THIRD-PARTY WEBSITE(S)

Live internet bidding is available during the auction via third-party website(s). Please be advised that proper time is required to review and respond to registration inquiries received through third-party websites. Additional information may be required to proceed with registration approval, including a wire transfer deposit or auction references. Current bids on the internet will be executed on your behalf during the auction. LLA, Ltd. cannot be held liable for live internet bids on a third-party website that are not sent, received, or executed by the administrator. If you are bidding live, real-time online through a third-party website, please bid quickly because there is a time delay in receiving live bids.

RESTRICTED MATERIALS

Please note that lots containing ivory or any other plant or animal material may be subject to regulations imposed by the Endangered Species Act by the United States Fish and Wildlife Department as well as other restrictions under federal, state and/or local law. Some countries prohibit the importation of property containing materials from endangered plant or animal species and prospective purchasers should familiarize themselves with relevant customs regulations prior to bidding if they intend to import these item(s) into another country. We also suggest that buyers in the United States check with their state's wildlife protection agency for any restrictions on the purchase, possession or sale of ivory or any other animal material. Please note that bidders in New York and New Jersey may not bid on any lots containing elephant ivory, mammoth ivory, or rhinoceros horn. Items containing ivory can only be shipped to an address in the United States. Bidders should check all applicable government wildlife restrictions prior to placing a bid. The buyer will be solely responsible for obtaining any necessary license or permits applicable to the sale or transport of the item(s) including any export or import license and/or certificates as well as any other required documentation.

ESTIMATED WEIGHTS AND MEASUREMENTS

Weights in catalogue description have been estimated through measurement and are to be used as approximate guidelines and not relied on as exact. Jewelry: Unless otherwise stated, all stones have been measured and graded in their settings. Metal weight given for jewelry includes stones unless stated otherwise. Buyers should be reminded that many colored gemstones have historically been treated to enhance their appearance. We test stones using a Presidium Gemstone Tester and base our results on a best estimation of those results. Lab reports will be referenced in catalogue descriptions if available. Silver: Weights provided for flatware services assume dinner knives to weigh ½ troy ounce in sterling silver.
COINS:
Unless listed as professionally graded all grades provided are a "best guess" and Lakelands Auction Services will not be held responsible should the buyer disagree with any grade or condition provided. We attempt to validate the authenticity of each coin being sold. We encourage each buyer to personally inspect each coin prior to bidding as each one is ultimately sold As Is Where Is.
FIREARMS:
All non-black powder firearms manufactured 1898 to the present must ship to a FFL dealer. Copies of your dealer's license can be faxed to 864-374-3063 or emailed to [email protected] We will include a copy of our FFL with shipment. Any condition estimates provided are a best guess. Lakelands Auction Services will not be held liable for condition disputes. We have not test fired any firearm and cannot attest to its functionality.

CLOCKS AND WATCHES

No warrantee that any clock or watch is in working order is given. Virtually all clocks and watches have been repaired in the course of their lifetime and may include parts not original to them. There is no guarantee to works or movement. Unless otherwise stated, weight includes works.

OWNERSHIP

Item ownership is conveyed immediately following the fall of the Auctioneer's hammer. While we try to handle and store items with great care, Lakelands Auction Services will have no liability for any loss or damage to an item after the hammer has fallen. Lakelands Auction Services is not liable for any damages incurred if assistance with loading is requested. Buyers are welcome to hire a professional shipping or moving company to assist with loading, packing, or shipping.

LOADING

Loading purchased items is the responsibility of the buyer. Lakelands Auction Services will, as a courtesy, assist with the loading following the sale, but this is done at the risk and responsibility of the buyer. Buyers who wish to arrange their own labor may contact the front office to schedule a time during normal business hours. Lakelands Auction Services will have no liability for any damage while providing loading assistance.

STORAGE

Unless prior arrangements are made, pick-up within 10 working days of the auction is required, or a $10.00 per lot per day storage fee will be charged.

ABANDONED PROPERTY

Unless prior arrangements have been made, any lot(s) remaining at the Lakelands Auction Services auction gallery more than 30 calendar days after the auction purchase date will be considered abandoned and no refunds will be given. Lakelands Auction Services is not obligated to notify the winning bidder of the abandoned lot(s).
