Вольский, К. Евреи в России. Их быт, цели и средства / пер. с франц. СПб.: Издание А. Анникова, 1887. [4], 163 c. Explaining that the collapse of Napoleon and the Congress of Vienna allowed the Jews to “run together” for the general ruin of states, the author quotes D. Radcliffe, who, in his opinion, “reveals to us with what persistence and tenacity the Jewish people have been pursuing their goal since time immemorial and by all possible means.” - creating your own kingdom on earth." “Thus, the inexorable war of the Jews against the Christian heritage has begun; it is conducted and controlled secretly by the Jewish headquarters - Kahal.”
Kalikst Wolski (1816-1885) - Polish writer and publicist; took part in the Polish uprising of 1830, then fled to France, where he studied to become an engineer; being a convinced socialist and fearing reprisals from the regime of Napoleon III, he left for the USA in 1852. In 1860 or 1861, Wolski returned to Poland (the Austrian part), he lived in Krakow and Zakopane. Prints articles and books with memories of life in the USA, publishes several anti-Semitic works
Kalikst Wolski, born in Potoczek (in the Kingdom of Poland dependent on the Russian Empire), died in the Krakow region on January 22, 18851, is a Polish travel writer, journalist and essayist. He is also known as a socialist activist.
In partitioned Poland, at the age of 16 he participated in the November Uprising in 1830 against the Russian Empire2.
In France, he worked as an engineer and, inspired by the ideas of Charles Fourier, participated in the revolution of 18483.
Unwanted in France under Napoleon III4, he settled in the United States in the 1850s, and crossed from New York to New Orleans5. In 1855, he contributed to the founding of “La Réunion”, a utopian socialist colony founded by Victor Considerant in Texas3.
Wolksi returned to Poland in 1860, to the Krakow region, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and wrote articles for the newspaper Kłosy6.
Usurpation of his name by the Tsarist police
After his death, his name was usurped by the Okhrana, the police of the Russian Empire, in order to publish anti-Semitic publications under his name. The leader of the Okhrana in France, Piotr Ratchkovski, had his name changed to "Kalixt de Wolski", and made him the author of an anti-Jewish pamphlet, Jewish Russia, published in 1887 by the publisher Albert Savine , who had just published La France Juive by Édouard Drumont. This name is also used to write articles in the anti-Masonic magazine Le Contemporain. According to several historians, such as Pierre-André Taguieff7;8;9, it was a pseudonym of an Okhrana agent, perhaps of Ratchkovski himself. Rachkovski would later commission Matveï Golovinski to write another forgery, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion
Under his name was also published a preface in Polish to the Book of Kahal, a book by anti-Semitic agitator Jacob Brafman (Żydzi i kahały. Dzieło wydane w jȩzyku rossyjskim w Wilnie w roku 1870 przez Brafmanna. Na jȩzyk polski przełozone i przerodione).
The confusion between the authentic Kalikst Wolski and the usurpation of his name continued 25 years after his death, since when the French publisher Ferreyrol published posthumously in 1910 Poland: its glory, its sufferings, its developments (translation of a work that the author had written in English in 1884), the work is mistakenly signed “Calixte de Wolski, author of Jewish Russia”.
Pyotr Ivanovich Rachkovsky (Russian: Пётр Иванович Рачковский; 1853 – 1 November 1910[1]) was chief of Okhrana, the secret service in Imperial Russia.[2] He was based in Paris from 1885 to 1902.
