Caumont-l'Evente is a village south of Bayeux (Calvados). The slate of Caumont is characterized by a light blue colour, and excellent resistance to bad weather. The company was formed in Paris, 1859, but closed the underground quarry at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1990 the municipality acquired it, and created an écomusée to illustrate the industry, also geology, mineralogy, caves, etc. Very decorative border.
