Notes

Kidd, a Scottish artist, was in Jamaica from 1835-43, and is remembered for his now rare set of Views of Jamaica, lithographed between 1838 and 1840. He was primarily a landscape painter, but was commissioned by Audubon to paint copies of one hundred of Audubon's drawings of birds in 1830, a project which he started but never completed.
