The bank was formed 1893 in Santiago by the merger of the Banco Nacional de Chile, the Banco de Valparaiso and the Banco Agricola. In 1896 it took over the business of the Banco Comercial Hipotecario (in liquidation). In 1976 it changed its status and became the Banco Hipotecario y de Fomento de Chile. Shows the arms of Chile, two different bridges and a fine building.
