Description: ten of the twenty etchings from the original portfolio, some with hand-coloring, all signed and titled in pencil by the artists, on laid papers each with watermarks: George Washington's monogram 'GW' and a coat of arms, each print signed in pencil and numbered variously from 1-20, all with full margins, loose (as issued), various plate sizes, the largest plate size: 14.75'' x 9.75, each paper size: 19.5'' x 14.5''. Note: The American Art Foundation published a portfolio of twenty etchings executed by some of America's most distinguished artists. The present lot includes: Levon West 'Strategic Retreat from Long Island', George Hand Wright 'Valley Forge - Army's Desperate Plight', Robert Nisbet 'The Surveyor's Assistant', Louis Conrad Rosenberg 'Washington, The Planter', Earl Horter 'Rallying the Troops at Braddock's Defeat', Allen Lewis 'The British Driven from Boston', Kerr Eby 'Stemming the Retreat at Monmouth' (two works, one black and white and one colored), Sears Gallagher 'Warning the French at Fort Le Boeuf' and Albert Sterner 'Preventing a Military Dictatorship'

Payment must be received by Moran's within the five business days immediately following the auction. BUYERS PREMIUM: The buyer agrees to pay the sum of the hammer price plus a premium of 20.5% (of the hammer price), together with any applicable tax. Buyers bidding via the internet agree to pay a total premium of 22.5% (3% online transaction fee). Buyers are strongly encouraged to provide full payment at the auction. Payment must be received by Moran's within the five business days immediately following the auction. The buyer shall not acquire title or take possession of the lot until all amounts (including the hammer price, premium and applicable taxes) due to Moran's have been paid in full.
CONDITION: Buyers are responsible for determining to their own satisfaction the true
nature and condition of any lot prior to bidding. Though buyers are not legally required to inspect lots prior to purchase, failure to do so may constitute a waiver of complaint that an item was not delivered in a
condition equal to the existent condition at the auction.
