Half title, mounted coloured frontispiece and 9 plates by Rene Bull within decorative borders printed in gold, mounted illustrations, other illustrations printed in blue (occasional spotting). Original pictorial cloth gilt (extremities rubbed, particularly at lower outer corners). With c. 75 other children's and illustrated books including Kenneth Grahame's The Golden Age (London, 1900, illustrated by Maxfield Parish), Andrew Lang's The Brown Fairy Book (London, 1904), Thomas a Kempis's The Imitation of Christ (London, 1923, one of 550 copies), Sheridan's The Duenna (London, 1925, illustrated by George Sheringham, dust-jacket) and Thomas Nashe's The Unfortunate Traveller ([London], 1948, illustrated by Michael Ayrton).
