Description: October 1855 69 RHONE. PARIS. 3% Obligation de F500. black. #82666. No 14410. Small piece of paper missing from top border (outside the printed part of the bond). Also several tiny edge-splits at the right border. Formed 1852 as the Cie de Lyon à Avignon, but then acquired other companies - Marseille à Avignon, Alais à Beaucaire,Montpellier à Cette, Montpellier à Nîmes, etc.), and was renamed Lyon à la Méditerranée. In 1858 merged with the Paris-Lyon to form the famous P.L.M. A beautiful bond, with a fine border of views of the Rhône and the sea, arms of the two cities, river and sea gods, fruit and much else. These obligations were taken on by the PLM and repaid by it.
