Description: 1938 PARIS. Action de F500. green, blue, black. #60000. No 16630. Superb design with wide border of eight coats-of-arms, a locomotive and two views. Very colourful piece. Formed in 1881 to build and operate local railways in many departments, mostly in central and western France, also Corsica. The principal departments have their arms in the border. Design by Gustave FRAIPONT, painter and engraver, born in Brussels 1849, but taking French nationality. He was known particularly for his posters. He gained an honourable mention at the Salon of 1882, and became a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur in 1896.
