Longue lettre sur un souper chez le prince de Conti, la disgrâce de Chauvelin, la marquise de Renel, et les Orléans.
« Il est aujourd'hui le 19 juin et nous mourons de froid icy. Je vais faire faire du feu à la honte de la providence. Que voulez vous dire que Milady Mari [Montagu] aura un amant malgré moy ce sera si peu malgré moy que sans l'attachement que jay pour Madame Bulkeley je vous offrirois volontiers à elle, je vous prie quand vous la verrés de lassurer de mon respect et de mon admiration ». Il a soupé chez le prince de Conti, où le prince et d'autres « me chargerent de vous embrasser de leur part nous vous voulions touts à ce souper qui par parentese fut un des plus longs que jaye fait de ma vie. Il me paroit que le prince cherche à donner une terrible extention à ses plaisirs. Le feu garde des sceaux [Chauvelin] est arrivé à Bourges il est allé dabort à pied ches le petit Dodart son intendant et son maitre pour luy faire voir quil avoit obei aux ordres du roy. On dit tant de choses sur sa nouvelle disgrace que je ne scay qu'en croire il a esté egalement accablé par ses ennemis et par ses amis qui ne pouvant renoncer aus esperances quils avoint concües de sa faveur vouloint à toute force le faire regrimper. Je vous avoüe que cette teste la ne me paroit avoir esté bonne ny dans la prosperité ny dans ladversité ce qui prouve quelle nestoit pas meme bonne lors quil n'avoit encore rien eu à demesler avec la fortune. Je ne suis point de votre avis de louer Grosbois lair y est chargé de corpuscules qui ne portent point la joie nous y gagnerions le spleen ». Puis sur la santé de la marquise de Renel (fille du maréchal de Berwick et nièce de Bulkeley) : « La pauvre Madame de Reinel sen va je croy dans lautre monde sans perdre lesperance de celui cy elle est mieux mais elle crache toujours du pus et je vous avoüe que je la croy sans ressource et quil nest question que de lui prolonger la vie. Elle me fait pitié car je la voy plus que je nay fait encore cest me semble la plus aimable de toutes les productions du maréchal ». Il salue ses amis anglais, et termine en relatant le procès entre la duchesse de Modène et son frère Louis d'Orléans au sujet de la succession de leur père le Régent : « Madame de Modene entre en proces avec Mr le duc d'Orleans dont la devotion court risque de soutenir un mauvais proces elle demende dentrer en partage parce que sa renonciation est nulle nayant pas touché la somme pour laquelle on lavoit faite renoncer. Il ne falloit que cela pour rendre leur amour parfait ».

Payment: By exemption, clause 14 from law from the 10th of July 2000 stipulates: «Should the buyer fail to pay the amount due, and after notice to pay has been given by S.V.V. LE BRECH & ASSOCIES to the buyer without success, the lot is re-offered for sale at the seller's request, under the French procedure known as "procédure de folle enchère"(crazy bid). If the seller does not make this request within two months from the date of the sale, the sale will be automatically cancelled, without prejudice to any damages owed by the defaulting buyer».

If the buyer fails to pay the hammer price and fees, a formal notice will be sent to him buyer by certified mail with acknowledgement of receipt. Unless payment is received within 10 days following the reception of this formal notice, additional fees of 10% on the hammer price, with a minimum of €250, will be applied in order to cover the recovery expenses. Enforcement of this stipulation does not prevent from granting financial damages and at the expense of the procedure that it would require, and does not prejudge a potential crazy bid may be carried out.
