Description

CLAYTON SUMNER PRICE (American, 1874-1950) MOONLIGHT PREPARATION. Unsigned oil on canvas shows a nighttime scene with bright moonlight reflecting off a harbor with sailboats in the background. Foreground has four boats which are moored alongside each other, the outline of figures are on board. Written on back of frame "Painted by C. S. Price". Also having "BLFA" which may represent the Berkeley League of Fine Arts which this artist has exhibited at. Frame has a stamp from "H. E. Skidmore Picture Gallery, Medford, Oregon". Housed in what appears to be its original painted molded wood frame. SIZE: 32" x 30". CONDITION: Scattered retouch, also the upper right sky section has been inpainting.
