More About this Item

Description: Cockerell (Douglas) Thirteen autograph letters, eleven signed to Lawrence W. Hodson, two to his secretary Constance Belliss, 20pp., 8vo, on headed paper, 1895-1904, discussing the binding of some Kelmscott fragments "I can't think why I did not buy the Froissart opening, every time I see it it seems more beautiful", suggesting that he might make an arrangement to bind some copies of the Essex House productions similar to that between Morris and Cobden Sanderson for the Kelmscott Chaucer, mildly criticising the Cellini "However I have bound five copies and they make wonderfully dainty little books"; the others in various bindings for Laurence Hodson and other clients, the purchase of suitable skins, and similar topics, one with a small sketch, folded, one with envelope.
