More About this Item

Description

Dario Vella.
Blue Wolf.
The illustration shows the auctioned piece.
He starts making his first graffitis in the 90s and then creates big murals with his crew in Italy and Europe. He participates in many conventions where he adapts his style and his creativity by always trying to bend the limits of graffiti. He also studied painting and graphic design, which over the years allowed him to create his personal style and artistic maturity. Since 2005 art has become his main activity: painting on canvas and on different supports which quickly enters the art galleries.
Tigers are his favorite subjects, recognizing a certain passion for these animals, which, if they are not protected, will eventually be extinct.

Literature

Street Art - Urban Art:
Street art is visual art created in public locations for public visibility. It has been associated with the terms "independent art", "post-graffiti", "neo-graffiti" and guerrilla art.[2]
Street art has evolved from the early forms of defiant graffiti into a more commercial form of art, as one of the main differences now lies with the messaging. Street art is often meant to provoke thought rather than rejection among the general audience through making its purpose more evident than that of graffiti. The issue of permission has also come at the heart of street art, as graffiti is usually done illegally, whereas street art can nowadays be the product of an agreement or even sometimes a commission. However, it remains different from traditional art exposed in public spaces by its explicit use of said space in the conception phase.

CONDITIONS AND TERMS OF SALE

UPAINT MONACO 2022 AUCTION - CONDITIONS AND TERMS OF SALE

UPAINT MONACO 2022 STREET ART FESTIVAL, IN SUPPORT OF THE FONDATION PRINCE ALBERT II DE MONACO

WSM Events (the Organizer), Mr. Alberto Colman, headquartered in the Principality of Monaco, is the company that owns the UPAINT & UPAW brands, and the Organizer of the UPAW and UPAINT street art festivals, since 2017.

Having its epicenter in Monte Carlo, where it was born and raised for six years, UPAINT, formerly known as UPAW - Urban Painting Around the World - is a street art festival that brings together the world's best street artists to showcase their artistic talent. The artists are invited to create unique works of art live for a number of days, in a selected public location open to the general public. We create a rare opportunity for art collectors to purchase the freshly created works during the festival, during the auction held on the last day of the event.
At the 2022 edition of UPAINT Monaco, Artcurial will auction the artworks created by our artists during the four days of the festival. We invite art collectors to the "highlight" of the festival, which will be held on Les Terrasses du Soleil at the Casino de Monte-Carlo. The auction will take place on June 20th at 6.30 pm.
As it has done it for the past six years, our event will continue to support the environmental cause this year: the net proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco. This year, our donation will help finance the "Human - Wildlife Initiative" project, which protects wildlife in rural and mountainous areas of Southern France.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF SALE

The following Terms and Conditions of Sale apply to all single lots presented at the closing auction of the UPAINT Monaco 2022 Street Art Festival, to be held on the Terrasses du Soleil Casino de Monte-Carlo, Monaco, on June 20th, 2022 from 6.30 pm. The Organizer is at the disposal of the potential buyers, to the extent possible, to provide them with any additional information available that would be of interest to them.

b) The descriptions of the lots in the catalog and the verbal indications or announcements are sourced directly from the artist and transcribed by the Organizer at the time of the production of the catalog, and constitute a representation of the present moment in which they were recorded. These do not constitute any guarantee of the condition of the lot in the future.

c) The absence of any indication of an accident, defect or incident in the catalog, reports, labels or verbally, does not imply that an item is free of any present, past or repaired defect. Conversely, the mention of any defect does not imply the absence of any other defect.
