DENI, Viktor (1893-1946). Podlezhit unichtozheniiu [Must Be Destroyed]. Lithograph (580 x 395 mm). Anti-war poster depicting a figure of a Western plutocrat sitting atop a pile of military supplies. The scene is accompanied by a poem by Demian Bednyi's. Framed. Viktor Deni was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1893. At 17 he had his first drawings published in the satirical journal Budilink. In 1913 he moved to St Petersburg where his work appeared in the journals Solntse Rossii, Vesna and Satirikon.
